My name is Jacqueline - I'm a socially moderate, religiously conservative, and politically liberal girl just loving life right now! I'm a 24 year old Master's of Media Studies student at the University of Texas, but an Oklahoma alumni and die-hard Sooner fan! I'm currently writing my thesis - in a nutshell my research is about girls' online lives, particularly informal learning environments. I'm also an English & Language Arts teacher for a local Home School Co-op. When I'm not researching for my thesis or writing lesson plans - I'm usually watching college football! Oh yea, and I'm training to run a half marathon with Teams in Training this winter, I'm pumped!

There's beauty in the breakdown
Let's see, it's only Tuesday?!?! How is that possible I have no idea. This week seems to be dragging on, is it too early to say that? I'm really ready for the semester to end, I'm not really enjoying any of my classes this semester. Stats is probably my favorite, yea never thought I would say that. And my History of Media and Social Change class is interesting, but we've been watching all these boring old clips that dull me to death.
One nice thing about Tuesdays though is Bible Study. I look forward to it all week, great fellowship and friends and it always puts me in a good mood, helps me get thru the rest of the week. Also, Tuesday means that tomorrow is the Wednesday meeting of the spring break group at the Library for happy hour - that is fun too!
It's been way too windy to play tennis, boo!
I had an interview at Panera Bread today, the cute guy said he'd call me back to set up a second interview with the hiring manager. *keep your fingers crossed* I just wish I had more availability. I'm in class til 4:20 every single day! At least when summer comes I can work whenever.
I've been reading "A Heartbreaking Work of a Staggering Genius", and as depressing as it can be at times, it is equally as funny. I really like Dave Eggers writing style. I reccommend the book, if you can get through the first chapter, cuz that's the most depressing, thus far anyway.
Well, I need to go workout and do some homework...just thought I'd post a not so interesting update.

I stole this from someone's blog and thought it was kinda fun, so yea, here we go:
I love: life - God, friends, my boyfriend, family, myself, the weather
I am not: ready to graduate
I hurt: when I am lied to
I hope: the sun stays out all week
I hate: mushrooms
I hear: birds chirrping
I crave: candy, always candy
I regret: not always being there for people when I should've been
I cry: when I get too tired
I care: about my family
I feel alone: when I am
I always: double check my alarm clock
I drive: too much
I sing: in the car...loudly
I dance: naked in my bedroom
I write: all the time
I breathe: air?
I play: tennis!
I miss: Cabana nights
I dream: not in color
I wonder: where I'll be in a year
I wait: for the day I can finally get a puppy
I beat: Brandon at tennis
I want: to lose 10 lbs.
Ok, enough time on the computer, I gotta go utilize this beautiful day!

I kissed your throat every time they said it wouldn't last
I love Spring, it's just so much fun. Thursday Brandon and I skipped history to go play tennis for a couple of hours and it was great. I've missed the sunshine!
Yesterday a big group of us went to the Medieval Fair (Click here for some not so exciting pics), which was fun as always. I got to swing, pet a Great Dane, eat a funnel cake and get hit on by 3 black guys, oh yea! Brandon ate way too much, we all drank some "limeade" and had a grand 'ol time. Afterwards, John, Brandon, and I smoked the hookah and played some fooseball.
Then we met a ton of people at the theater to go see Sin City. It was a beautiful movie, with some very good story lines, but by the end the violence was really getting to me. Even if the dude was yellow and only half human-like, I didn't want to see him destroyed, so gross. But it's a good movie.
Afterwards we all headed to Taco Cabana, yum. We stayed for awhile just talking and chilling. Even more blackmail stories have emerged from Spring Break. Something about Dustin and Danny in the backseat of a van...hmmmm...
It's so beautiful outside today, I think I'm gonna go to the park and read. Now if only I had a dog life would be perfect.
Oh, and a prayer request: My mom fell off her horse this week and got a mild concussion, her head is hurting her and she's all bruised up. So pray she heals quickly, I love my mom!
"This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
Yes this is as shallow as it appears...but I think my boyfriend is hot and I don't care if I show him off!

I love you P----!

It's official, Happy Hour(s) at The Library are the greatest! I love their $1.50 microbrew pints, you seriously can't beat it. Seriously, what's better than drinking with your favorite people at 4 in the afternoon after a bunch of hard classes, NOTHING! There's something so appealing about having a beer when it's still light outside. The weather is so nice, I love getting to sit on the patio and drink a refreshing beer. And thanks to John leaving before his beer came, I got to try a Sooner Stout, which Brandon kept telling me "isn't a girl's beer, you won't like it." Well, turns out I loved it and can't wait to go back and order another one. Pale Ale Schmale Ale, gimme a Stout!
Hilary are you coming again next week? Haha!

I was studying at Border's tonight and I over-heard a conversation a girl was having on the phone, presumably with her boyfriend. Now, I couldn't really see this girl because of the bookshelf in front of me, but I caught a glimpse of her, and she appeared to be college age. Here's what I heard:
"No, I'm not crying. Yes, I am mad. However, I have every right to be bad....*brief pause*...ok fine, bye."
("Aw," I thought, "That girl's in a fight with her boyfriend, that sucks." *sympathy ceases at this point because of the conversation she and the friend with her at Border's proceed to have.)
Friend: Are you okay, you seem upset?
Girl previously on phone: I am upset, he never showed up today. And as I remember correctly, he pinky promised me. (said in a completely serious tone of voice)
*I momentarily stop listening in order to pick my jaw up off the floor*
Friend: So what did you do?
Girl: He finally text messaged me about 8
The girl went on to describe a "conversation" via text messages that went something like this:
Boy: What are you doing?
Girl: I'm putting my clothes back on
Boy: So you were naked?
*Girl to friend: Of course I was naked, he said he'd be over at 8:00*
Girl: Yes...so where were you?
Boy: Are you offended?
Girl: Why?
Boy: Cuz I thought I may have offended you with the naked comment.
*Girl says something I can't really hear...then sends a text saying: Oh well excuse me, when you said 6:00 I guess you meant Pacific Time, I guess I'll just see you sometime between 9:00 and 4:00.*
Girl to friend: Yea, he never responded to that message.
Friend: Well, you have to understand, he doesn't know everything. You can't expect him to know everything. I mean obviously he doesn't know how to date or how to be a boyfriend.
Ummm...excuse me, but what kind of date involves getting naked cuz your boyfriend is coming over? Seems rather presumptuous to me. Maybe this girl doesn't know much about being a girlfriend either. Who knows, but one thing is certain, she had no problem discussing nudity in public. Cuz I know I was not the only one in Border's to over-hear this odd conversation.
